Zanzibar Stone Town Streets

Stone Town Tour

This 3 hour guided walking tour shall take you to one of the seven world heritage sites in Tanzania. It is the only one on the islands of Zanzibar. It was declared an official World Heritage site by UNESCO in 2000 for it’s unique architecture, history & culture. You will pleasantly and continuously be stunned with beauty of the city which is decorated by the peoples smiles & friendliness. As you explore all the narrow alleys and streets which leads to the local souvenir bazaar you will have ample time to shop around. The tour will also visit the former slave market, house of wonders, the old fort and even pass by where Freddie Mercury was born. This surely is a tour not to miss.

We highly recommend to start in the early morning or towards the evening. The food market at Forodhani garden is also open when doing the evening tour.

Spice Tour

Experience the richest mark of the green environment to which made the Island a true landmark for so many decades. A short drive to spice farms or plantations will give you an opportunity to learn by seeing, smelling and tasting a variety of tropical spices and fruits. You will also learn about the special uses of the different spices used throughout the Swahili coastal regions. You might also experience a traditionalal show whereby a man would climb, sing and dance on the top of a coconut tree to prove how we harvest our food & cash crops in Zanzibar. The Spice tour has been around for decades to give visitors an authentic African local experience for everyone who visits.

The Spice Tour can be conducted any time from 08:00 to 17:00.

Prison Island Tour

The historical landmark is one of the most visited islands in Zanzibar. The British First Minister of Zanzibar, Lloyd Mathew, purchased the Island in 1893 and constructed a prison complex there. It is  reached by traditional wooden dhows in just 20 minutes from Stone Town. This island is home to many giant Aldabra tortoise’s some of them well over 100 years old the wonderful creatures truly make this experience one to remember. The island is also an excellent place to go swimming, sunbath & snorkel.

Jozani Forest Tour

This tour  will take you on a walking adventure through the the biggest forest on the island which is home to rare animal species indigenous to Zanzibar. You will have the opportunity to spot the friendly red colobus monkeys in their natural habitat. This tour will take you through three parts of this wonderful rain forest which is rich in it’s variety of trees and plants species, some of which gets used for medicinal purposes locally. Later on you will meet the monkeys in the area who lives in family groups and then finally go through wooden walkways to see the marvelous mangrove trees.

We also offer optional visits to the butterfly watching or aquarium.

Dolphin Trip

In early settlement of the Persians at Kizimkazi village in Menai Bay this are is now a conservation area, and known for the “place” for Bottlenose and Humpback Dolphins. The majestic tour starts very early in the morning from your hotel to this southern part of the Island where you will travel by boat with our guide or captain to the ocean spot. Because this is such a popular spot for these wonderful animals travelers have a 75% – 80%  chance to see and swim with them. When returning from the adventurous tour breakfast and refreshments will be served at the beach restaurant.

Safari blue Tour

A full-day excursion to the southwest of Zanzibar an adventure safari in the ocean which starts in Fumba village. You will travel in wooden dhow which is well equipped. The tour will travel directly to the sand bank where there will be ample opportunity to have a swim, sunbath & snorkel. A variety of drinks will also be available during this time. The tour then starts moving towards Kwale island to see it’s natural lagoon and enjoy the seafood lunch saved with lobster, octopus, calamari, pawns, barracuda, tuna and much more. Towards the evening time, the dhow will switch off it’s engines and open it’s sails to get the full local experience of fishers and early traders were conducted their journey by using monsoon winds.  

Zanzibar Culture & Traditional Tour

This arranged and guided  excursion ensures you partake and value the Swahili culture like never before. The culture was adopted from different cultures during early trading period i.e Arabs, Indian’s, Persians and many more and can still be found within the islands of Zanzibar as well as some coastal regions.
